You will be charged the monthly plan fees if applicable. You may be on an All In One plan, which means that you will pay no monthly line rental fees for the duration of your contract. All monthly fees will be charged in advance. In most cases, your first bill will include two charges per service: one covering the period you have already used, and the other being the advance charge for the following month. As you are entitled to a cooling-off period, your first bill may not include any fees. In this case, these will appear on your second bill.
Details of these can be found on our Mobile rates page.
Where the MT Text Info charges appearing on your bill are concerned, these are from texting things like reality TV voting, competition lines and downloads, etc. These services use a premium rated number, and as such, are charged at a higher rate than standard text messages - anywhere up to £1.50 per text message (SMS).
When using these services, not only are you charged for sending the text message, but you are also charged every time you receive a text message from them. Onetel has no direct control over either this, or the actual rates you are charged.
We are also, unfortunately, not able to access the actual number these text messages were sent to. Thus, we are at this point in time, unable to provide you with more information relating to their origin.
Should you find you are receiving (and being charged for) text messages from a premium rated text service, we would advise you to contact the regulators of these services, ICSTIS. You can contact ICSTICS by calling 0800 500 212 (open 9am to 4pm). They will investigate the premium rate text messages received on your mobile and will give you a contact number to cancel them.
